OUR STORY
ALECAVA was created by Christopher and Damaris Cavounis — two people brought together by family, perseverance, innovation, and a shared belief in a better way of living.
Christopher is an entrepreneur, visionary, and leader with experience spanning manufacturing, food, agriculture, wellness, and product development. Throughout his career, he has focused on bringing innovative ideas and quality products to the market while continually searching for better, more natural and sustainable ways of doing things.
His journey has not been conventional. After facing serious personal challenges, including a battle with cancer and a difficult past, Christopher's life took a new direction when he met his wife, Damaris. Together they built a family and welcomed their beautiful twin children.
That chapter changed his priorities.
Today, Christopher and Damaris are focused on creating things that have meaning — products, experiences, agriculture, wellness, and opportunities that connect people with nature and with one another.
ALECAVA Oporapa
ALECAVA Oporapa is the latest expression of that vision.
Located in the mountains of Oporapa, Huila, Colombia, ALECAVA brings together wellness, nature, agriculture, innovation and authentic Colombian countryside experiences.
The vision is to create a destination where people can step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with themselves, nature and the land.
Our approach to wellness is broad and personal. It may include nature, movement, nutrition, traditional practices, relaxation, agriculture and carefully designed experiential activities. Where appropriate, traditional plant-based and cultural practices may also be explored with respect for their origins, safety and responsible use.
ALECAVA is not simply a place to visit. It is a vision for a different way of living.
